I’ve worked with a lot of taxpayers who’ve fallen behind on their taxes… and you’re definitely not alone.
The good news? This is fixable.
We start by:
→ Getting your missing returns filed
→ Addressing any IRS notices
→ Putting a plan in place so you stay on track moving forward
And if you’re “only” 1–2 years behind?
That’s actually very manageable.
The most important thing you can do right now is not fall further behind.
Because penalties and interest will keep stacking up until everything is filed and handled.
The sooner you deal with it, the easier (and cheaper) it usually is.
If this sounds like you, send me a DM or comment “HELP” and I’ll point you in the right direction.
Or grab the link in my bio to book a call 📲 ...
“it depends” 👉🏼 my favorite and your least favorite answer 😉
Let’s clear this one up:
Your federal income tax payments?
Not deductible. Not even a little bit.
Now for the “fine print” nobody asked for but everyone needs:
• State & local taxes can be deductible… until the SALT cap ruins the party
• Business owner? There might be a workaround (hello PTET 👀)
• Self-employed? You get to deduct half your SE tax… congrats, I guess
• Own a business? Some taxes are deductible (payroll, unemployment, property)
So yeah… simple question, mildly chaotic answer.
Which is exactly why Googling your taxes is a dangerous hobby 😌
Want the answer that actually applies to you?
Head to the link in bio or DM us “TAX” and we’ll point you in the right direction 💌 ...
You’re not “bad at taxes”… you might just be set up wrong 👀
If your business is a single-member LLC, here’s the issue:
All your profit = hit with 15.3% self-employment tax 😬
An S-corp election can reduce that by splitting your income into:
→ Salary (taxed)
→ Distributions (not subject to SE tax)
But here’s what most people don’t realize…
S-corps are NOT for everyone.
They come with:
→ Payroll
→ Extra tax filings
→ More admin + costs
And if your income isn’t high enough yet?
You could actually end up paying more, not less.
So no, it’s not a loophole or a one-size-fits-all “tax hack.”
It’s a strategy that only works when the numbers make sense.
If your income has grown and no one’s reviewed your structure, there’s a good chance you’re leaving money on the table… or overcomplicating things.
Comment “STRUCTURE” or DM me and I’ll tell you if it’s even worth considering for your situation.

If you’ve ever seen our business page or thought our content looked put together… there’s a reason for that - It’s all @houstonstudio_ owner @christamccourt 📸📸📸👌🏾
For me, it started with one branding session back in 2022, and we STILL use those photos today across our website, social media, and marketing.
The difference?
It wasn’t just photos… it was strategic content we could reuse over and over again.
Christa is amazing. I’m still not entirely sure how she does it.
For context, I’m awkward, extremely insecure in front of the camera, I don’t love getting my picture taken, I never know how to pose, and I would not ever describe myself as photogenic 😅
…but if you’ve seen our content, you’d never know that.
That’s why this event is great for everyone, no matter what stage you’re at in business or career 👇

POV: You stop seeing networking as optional… and start seeing it as an investment — and somehow end up with a whole village. 💕
Huge love to @christamccourt for building @kingwoodbusinesswomen into such an incredible community of women, and to @grandeventshtx for hosting and giving us the cutest photo op to capture it all.
Let’s be honest, entrepreneurship can feel heavy. The responsibility. The decisions. The constant mental checklist running in the background.
And you can try to carry it all alone…
Or you can surround yourself with women who get it.
No competition.
No drama.
Just genuine connection, real support, referrals, encouragement, and friendships that actually mean something.
Networking isn’t about collecting business cards.
It’s about building relationships with the people who become your sounding board, your cheerleaders, and your safe place to land when business feels overwhelming.
These women are my village…and I don’t take this community for granted. 💗

For a long time, I believed ‘enough’ was something I was supposed to become. Chasing expectations that weren’t mine and measuring myself against comparisons that never really fit. Trying to do all the things for everything. Looking back at this version of me in 2022, I see someone who wasn’t (and isn’t) perfect, but kept building anyway.
Nearly five years later, and despite not meeting everyone’s expectations, I’m proud of her.
If there’s a lesson here for others trying to be ‘enough’, it’s this: You don’t have to do it all perfectly to be doing something meaningful. Building a life, a family, and a career at the same time will never look tidy…and that doesn’t mean you’re failing.
Oh and TAX TIME IS HERE 🧾✨ Call me 📞☎️ ...
Quick tax update 🚗💸
The IRS raised the standard mileage rate for business use to 72.5 cents per mile for 2026, up from 70 cents last year.
Medical and moving mileage drops slightly to 20.5 cents, and charitable mileage stays put at 14 cents.
These rates kick in January 1, 2026 and apply to gas, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
Moral of the story? If you drive for business, track your mileage—because it adds up fast. ...

Heads up! 🚨 The IRS has announced the 2026 inflation-adjusted standard deductions. Here’s the scoop:
💸 Single/Married Filing Separately: $16,100
💸 Married Filing Jointly/Surviving Spouse: $32,200
💸 Head of Household: $24,150
Why does this matter? 🤔
These deductions reduce your taxable income—meaning you might pay less in taxes. And if you’re 65+ or legally blind, you could qualify for more deductions!
